Introduction.
Welcome to the first class, young people! We are very glad to have you here. Let's begin by welcoming the Holy Spirit and praying together.
Prayer.
"Lord, we thank You for this time together. We ask that Your Holy Spirit guide us and help us learn more about You and Your Word. In Jesus' name, amen."
Worship and Praise.
Let's start with a time of worship and praise. Let's praise God for His greatness and love.
Activity: Getting to Know Each Other.
Before we dive into the study, let's take a moment to get to know each other better. Let's share a few things about ourselves:
1. How are you today?
2. How do you feel about these classes?
3. What would you like to learn in these classes?
4. What have you learned since you started attending church?
5. What do you like to do in your free time?
The Bible and Its Heroes.
The Bible is full of incredible stories with heroes and heroines that we can admire and learn from. God created these people and worked through them, and in the same way, He can do amazing things in your lives. We will learn how God is and how He teaches us to live according to His will, achieving victories as we walk with Him. It won't always be easy, but it will definitely be worth it.
Bible Study: The Creation.
Today we are going to read and study Genesis 1, the account of creation. We will discover how God created the world and everything in it.
Reading: Genesis 1
Contents of Genesis 1
Day 1: Creation and Disorder
• Separation of light and darkness:
God created light and separated it from darkness, calling the light "day" and the darkness "night." This is the beginning of order amidst the disorder.
2: Expansion and Balance
• Creation of the heavens:
God made an expanse to separate the waters above from the waters below, creating a space that brings balance to the universe. He called this expanse "sky."
Day 3: Separation of Waters and Land and Production of Nature
• Land and seas:
God gathered the waters in one place and made dry ground appear, calling the dry ground "land" and the gathered waters "seas." Then, He made the land produce vegetation: plants and trees that bear fruit.
Day 4: Lights in the Firmament
• Creation of the sun and the moon:
God created two great lights to separate the day from the night. The greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night, along with the stars.
Day 5: Production of Living Creatures
• Sea creatures and birds:
God filled the waters with living creatures and the sky with birds, blessing them to be fruitful and increase in number.
Day 6: Creation of Man and Woman
• Humanity:
God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them. He gave them dominion over the earth and all creatures, blessing them and telling them to be fruitful and increase in number.
Final Reflection.
In this first class, we have learned about the incredible power of God as the Creator. He brought order out of chaos and created everything with a purpose. Just as in creation, God can bring order and purpose to our lives. As we continue with these classes, we will learn more about how to walk with God and experience His power and love in our daily lives.
Closing:
Let's pray to close this class:
"Lord, thank You for showing us Your power and love through creation. Help us to stand firm in our faith at school and work, and to live each day for You. In Jesus' name, amen."
See you in the next class!
